On The Braxtons Season 3, Episode 5 the whole family is in LA,

because Evelyn and Michael want to make sure the entire family is united again.  Brother Michael is also in town.  The main purpose of the dinner is to end the family feud, especially between Traci and Tamar. 

Everyone goes around the table and tells what they are thankful for.  Michael says he is thankful for his parents, his sisters, and thankful he is not a girl.  Towanda is thankful that her brother named her Towanda, but not really, because she hates it.  She wants her name to be Tori, because you don't know who is coming.  However, when you hear Towanda you know exactly who is coming.  Traci doesn't like the name Traci.  She wants to be call Tiffany, Taylor, but really Torrence?  Huh?  Tamar said that is a white valley girl name. 

Traci Braxton is working it out this season in the gym with her sister Tamar, because she was ask to participate in the Charity of Walk Foundation for Women's Cancer.  They meet up at Sgt. Tchicaya Congo's gym and let me just say this true African man is hilarious.  He totally fits in with The Braxton's.  Like you can hardly understand what he is saying, but whatever comes out his mouth is funny.

Trina invited all of her sisters to lunch to discuss the opening of her store in Atlanta except for Toni Braxton, because she had to work on her new movie Twist of Faith, but she feels Tamar is the main sister that will have issues.  She wants all the sisters to be together with her to open the store.  This was originally Tamar's ideal three years ago, but now all sisters want to be involved.  Towanda definitely doesn't want their mommy to be involved, but Tamar doesn't think it would be a good ideal to exclude their mom Evelyn.  Towanda's reason is she doesn't want their store to have a mommy section and Tamar's argues that a lot of older women shop for clothes, but they don't call them clothes they call them outfits....kmsl...That Tamar, she is team too much!  Gabe, Trina's husband doesn't want any of the sisters to be included, because Trina and himself have done a lot of the work by themselves.  Plus, they have to split the money 5 ways.

Tamar and Toni go shopping for golf clubs for their dad's 65th birthday party.  Toni brings up the opening of the store and wanted to know what the girls talked about.  Tamar didn't see it coming when Toni took the side of her other sisters and not Tamar.  Tamar says it is not going to work, because everyone is too busy, which is the same thing they were on her about at the Tamar Intervention Therapy Session.  Tamar brings up to Toni that maybe they should send their dad on a cruise for his birthday instead of buying golf clubs.  She said she could picture her dad making inappropriate jokes and gambling, which is something he does anyway.

Traci's PSA on the Charity of Walk Foundation for Women's Cancer turned out really good.  However during the speech she just call you white girls Albino's?  Girl, get your life!  Was you nervous of something?  I mean geesh, you practiced before you went up there, so what happen.  ?

Toni Braxton says she doesn't love music anymore.  She says it is stressful and not fun anymore.  She says she is upset with herself, because she doesn't feel that thing for it anymore.  Towanda tells her all the things she has gone through the past few years she is suppose to be stress and Towanda says maybe she should write about it in her music.  Toni says she can't listen to the radio or look at the award show, because she hates it.  She says if she sings it and doesn't feel it, people will notice it.  Read more as she discuss this with Essence Magazine.

She says she doesn't want be involve in her sister's arguments anymore, but she wants to resolve the issues swirling between her and Tamar. 

Trina treats her mother Evelyn Braxton out to lunch and apologizes for the way she treated her mother in the therapy session on Episode 4.  Trina in the last episode feud a little with her mother, because she thinks her mother alway seems to take Tamar side, but Miss Evelyn says she doesn't take sides with any one of her daughters.  Instead she supports them all in their own special way. 

It was great to finally see Traci's husband Kevin on the show after two seasons of airing The Braxton Family Values.  May I add he is noting like I imagine.  I picture a strict guy who in my mind sort of controlling.   Instead, we see a charming and loving husband/dad.

Michael Braxton Senior is in town and challenges Tamar to a dance competition.  Tamar gives him a tap dance and Braxton Senior instead gives her a stanky leg dance.  He is actually in town, because his ex wife Evelyn, the sister's mother called him and ask could he help straighten out the attitudes stirring around among the sisters.  Tamar says she loves when her dad comes in to town, because he makes her laugh and never judges her.

Being in the hot seat is something Tamar Braxton is not a fan of, but her dad was able to convince Tamar to speak to her sister Toni Braxton about issues going on in their relationship.   She walks into the living room to be greeted by all of the sisters and Evelyn, except Traci.  Who flew back home to take care of her husband who was hospitalize.

The sister feel if their mother Evelyn and if their dad Michael can get along, then there is hope for them.  Tamar calls the therapy session a Tamar Intervention, because she felt everyone was attacking her.  Toni says the therapy was suppose to be all of the sisters telling her how they feel.  Tamar says her feelings were hurt during the therapy session and again says her sisters are bashing her and going back into the past about things that happen 15 years ago. 

Toni ask Tamar does she think sometimes people need an apology to move forward?  Because Toni says her feelings were really hurt after the therapy session.  Tamar says it is not fair, because she has to swallow ever feeling and emotion her sisters give her and whatever she gives back she has to apologize for hers and that's the unfair part. 

Toni says she wants an apology from Tamar for the smartness comment she made about her sisters being jealous of the Tamar and Vince show.

As Tamar begins to apologize, Toni interrupts her and says she doesn't want it and Braxton Senior tells Tamar she needs to be sincere with her apology.  So, Tamar finally apologizes and Toni accepts.  Tamar says her and Toni have been close since she was a little girl and she doesn't feel in anyway her sister Toni is jealous of her.

Now it's Traci turn!  Michael Braxton meets with Traci in her hometown Maryland and they discuss her husband's health scare.  Michael Braxton brings up the Tamar argument, but doesn't want to go into details about he say she say.  So, Traci gets upset and storms off and then skids away from curb, while Braxton Sentior is trying to stop her to get her to come back so they can talk.  Later on in the show Traci apologizes to her dad for hurting his feelings and speeding off the way she did.

Tamar continues to promote her Love and War single, while Towanda is still upset about the tension between Tamar and herself.  Towanda is upset with Tamar, because of the Tamar and Vince show which aired on WE-TV September of 2012.  All of the sisters are really feeling some type of way towards Tamar, but Tamar just thinks the sisters are all hating on her new profound career.

We also learn Trina Braxton's engagement and wedding ring is a fake!  Her husband Gabe proposed and married her with it.  Although, he makes a lot of money, Trina says he is just cheap.  The ring actually turned out to be a cubic zirconium. 

You would have thought the drama with the sisters and Dr. Sherry Blake was all over in season 2, but it isn't.  The sisters and mama Braxton, Evelyn have a sit down counseling session again during season 3, episode 3 of The Braxton's.  It seems like the main reason they needed the visit to Dr. Sherry's office is to fix their relationship with one another.  Tamar is angry, because she thinks her sisters hates her.  Trina states before season 1 begin, the show was suppose to be a family show in which it was agreed upon with all the sister that they would do appearances together and no one would do a spin off show, like Tamar went and did with her husband Vince. 

Dr. Sherry tells the sister, that they are holding a lot of- stuff and it needs to be said to one another, but they can't just point the finger at Tamar and expect for her to be okay with the darts that are being thrown at her. 

When Tamar arrives  after filming her video Love and War, she greets her sisters with hugs and kisses, but she does have her guard up, because she is the last sister to enter in the session and she just knows the sisters are against her. 

So in the counseling session, Towanda says it was hard for her to be excited about the Tamar and Vince Show, because of the way how it was presented to her.  Towanda says she is happy for her sister, but it's the way how she went about it.  She also attacks Tamar's marriage with Vince when she says Tamar turns a deaf ear when her husband does certain things.  Toni Braxton jumps in and takes Towanda side and says Tamar talks about everyone else's husband, but turns a blind eye when her husband's does something. 

Tamar said in frustration she may have said "F" the Braxton's Family Values, because there were times when they were backing out of rehearsals, being late, or not showing up at all.  She also stated they were lazy and whack and whack is something she's not trying to be with, because she doesn't want the whack juice on her.  She tells the sisters she should have never came to the session and then gets into a confrontation with her sister Traci.  In all honesty I'm not sure what they were arguing about, but from last season we know Tamar and Traci have their own issues with one another.  If you watched Episode 3, you would have saw how heated their conversation was and that it looked like it may have lead to a brawl, but we hope these sister will never put their hands on one another. 

Finally, we see sister Toni Braxton walks out of the therapy session, because Tamar made the comment that all her sisters are jealous of her.

Season 12 American Idol Winner

Candice Glover who has put out her single I Am Beautiful, is our Season 12 American Idol Winner in 2013.  I'm so happy I tuned in this season.  It was an honor and a pleasure to watch so many talented people this season.  Before I go any further you guys this is probably going to be a very long, but entertaining post.  I have to cover Candice Glover's journey, fashion lows and highs, singles sang by the contestants that blew me away, idol tours, and the finale.  So stay tune and I hope you enjoy!

 Candice stated she has been trying to be an Idol star for 3 years now and last year when she tried out she didn't make the cut, but my, my, my oh how things have change.

Here's is Candice at this season's auditions.  I want to give you a timeline of how much Candice has grown.  I'm not sure if American Idol really showed Candice's audition.  I only remember seeing her during Hollywood round and it was only like twice, but I remember thinking to myself that girl can sing, but I don't know if she is American Idol material. 

I didn't agree with all of Candice's song choices, because I felt she was trying to please American and the judges, rather than tapping into her true roots, which are R and B.  I don't really see her doing that pop thing.

but one thing I do not want you judging plus size girls on is they are covering up what they don't want the camera's to see.  Now that is a true statement, but you just can't say it.

We also learn Candice Glover album will be out July 16, 2013 entitled Music Speaks.  In the meantime, she will be enjoying the American Idol tour 2013 with 10 other contestants she competed with during the show.  The tour begins June 29th in Kansas City, Missouri and wraps up August 31 in Nashville, TN

My favorite Idols who made it to the Top 10:
1.  Curtis on American idol 2013.  He was so brave to perform with his soulful gospel voice.  He really wasn't an American Idol pleaser, but her definitely didn't mind letting us know he was God pleaser.  This man could hit a note like no other than I have heard before. Listen as sings Fantasia's I Believe. For me he was better suited for a gospel show, but maybe he wants to do more than that and really that is one of biggest questions, "why did he try for American Idol rather than a gospel competition show?" 

2. Burnell was an American Idol pleaser.  Love his raspy voice tho!

3. Surprisingly enough! Lazaro was my favorite.  Honey he just did his own thing, but my favorite performance was the "We are the Champions. "

As a finalist on "American Idol,"  a transformation takes place.  Entering into the Top 10 on the show, the contestants begin receiving the full star treatment, with hair, makeup, and wardrobe being professionally done for them before every photo shoot, dress rehearsal, performance and results show. 

For most contestants, this makeover brings dramatic change.  Just two short months ago, they were regular people, with regular jobs, living regular lives in regular clothes. 

When St. Helena Island native Candice Glover left her job as an excursions coordinator to compete on "Idol,"  she also left behind the Fripp Island Resort blue polo that she wore to work. 

These days her uniform reflects her aspirations. 

STAR POWER

The "American Idol" makeovers help give the rising stars newfound confidence.  "It helps you have more star power,"  Kudelka said.  "You can see everyone growing and becoming more of an artist and getting a signature style to them.

The signature style for contestant Burnell Taylor is bowties.  Lazaro Arbos is know for his bright color, wearing a turquoise blazer in the Top 10 and a yellow blazer the next week.  Janelle Taylor favors a mere neutral color wheel, with lots of peaches and beiges for a country look. 

For Candice Glover, it's been blazers, high heels and leggings.  She's curvy, but she's got curves in all the good places, Kudelka said.  "She's definitely open to fashion.  And she wears the clothes really well, so it's fun to dress her." 


While purple is Glover's favorite color and has become a trademark of her fanbase, she hasn't worn the color on the show yet, except for a steak colored in her hair. 

When it comes to on-stage attire, the singer sticks with a different hue.  "I love black,"  Glover said Tuesday in a phone interview.

Kudelka said black is the color of stars, a dramatic choice that emits a powerful aura. 

"Most artists in concert usually wind up in a black something," she said. 

Black clothing also opens the door to brighter accessories, or the "statement pieces," Kudelka says Glover wears so well.

"Whether it's the big earrings or a big necklace, she loves bold pieces, and she really can handle good statement pieces," she said.  "Because we like such fun jewelry on her, it gives it a nice palette, a blank slate."

Let me just start off by saying "You better play that piano Alicia Keys!"

Just in case you missed Alicia Keys make over, don't stress, because not much has change.  But what I have notice is...the braids are gone...hopefully forever, she has turned her grown woman sexy up, and honey she is looking fierce.  Just look at her and she is rocking that BOB.

I was really happy Idol step up and bought in a big name African American artist other than Fantasia on the show.  I would have loved, loved, loved to see Beyoncé, but Alicia Keys was a nice fill in (no shade thrown).  She sung the heck out of that song off her new album called "Tears Always Win." 

Find Out  Who Was Voted Off:  When Angie Miller's name was called to be voted off last night on American Idol season 12, my jaw dropped to the floor.  I was such in an awful shock.  I felt like I kind of blank out for a moment, because I was yelling, screaming, but cheering at the television all at the same time.  My originally thoughts on who was going to be the top two female girls were Angie and Candice Glover.  Here is why:

 I thought this was what American Idol was looking for in a contestant this season.

That statement could have been true for Candice and Kree last night too!  But here's another thought to ponder on.  Did you feel like me and think Angie was kind of cocky Wednesday night.  You know Nicki said she looked so comfortable on the stage and Angie's response was she had a new pride about herself after leaving her hometown's parade, because they showed her so much love.  But maybe Angie you should have been more humble like the other two contestants, not to say she wasn't, but her confident level Wednesday was a little more than I could handle.  I believe Candice and Kree are the right choice for the top 2, but I have also notice how much they are alike in so many ways.  Why do you say that Queen Moore?  Here's why:

1.  The obvious one is they are Plus Size Diva's.  Did you catch that? 
2.  Soul singers (Did you hear Kree sing Have You Ever Been in Love By Celine Dion). Um...Fabulous!
3.  And what my third eye has notice about these ladies is they are the judge's favorites. 

Angie was really a competition in a box by herself, but the other two sisters are in a competition that is just too close for me to call who will be crown the new season 12 American Idol Winner. 

Did Idol Really just show that lame Song of Mariah Carey: One thing I wasn't thrilled, excited to see, or wanted more of was from Mariah Carey's new single called "Beautiful" featuring Miguel.  American Idol did a world premier on the video and don't get me wrong it was a beautiful video, but the style of the song was a different sound from her.  Please don't hate me for going so hard on her, but geesh I absolutely hated it...along with her outfit from Wednesday night too!

IN OTHER NEWS: My favorite performance ever from Angie Miller is "Halo," but I love her originally song too!

The more I look at that outfit, the more I hate it.  However she looks good now compared to the picture below.

Mariah Carey on American Idol last night was not sizzling hot, but her stomach was.  Darling it shows that you have been working on your mid section.  I absolutely hated what you had on tonight and I really felt you should of wore something else to show us that the baby weight is gone.  But compared to how we saw you in January, we can definitely see the transformation. 

This is Mariah Carey earlier in the season of American Idol Season 12.  Her twins hadn't quite turned a year yet and as we know after carrying one baby full term, carrying two babies could make it more difficult to lose the baby weight.

didn't realize it had been two years already since the couple had their twins.  I absolutely love this picture.  Doesn't Nick Cannon look like a dad?  To be honest with you he looks like a little brother to Mariah and a big brother to the twins.  He is actually 33 years old and Mariah is about 10 years older than him, putting her at 43 years old.   


On American Idol 2013 Season 12 Episode 34, the American Idols did three songs tonight, in which none of the songs were selected by the contestants.  Here's the singles they sung...

We also saw a glimpse of the parades in the contestants home town.  I was of course touched by the ladies home town love.  My favorite was Candice Glover, because she made me teary eyed.

 

Kree Harrison's hometown love was very emotional too!  One thing I believe that has to be hard for her is to go through this American Idol journey with neither parent.  Her dad died in a plane crash and her mother died in a car accident when she was younger.   Nicki Minaj said it best "that people don't understand how strong and young she is to not have both parents."
